VSR License Procedure

 

Get license ID

Once you have bought a VSR plug-in, we need your license ID to create a permanent license for you. To get your license ID please select in the Rhino pull down menu the button  "VSR Renderer" - "About..." or "VSR Shape Modeling" - "About...". A dialog appears. There you can press the button "System Info".

Alternatively you can also use the output of the free programm "VSR System Validator" that you can download from our download page. You receive information like this:

Please send us this information. You will receive a valid license key for the VSR plug-in you have bought via E-Mail.

 

Activating your floating license

Please Note: Computers which shall use a floating license must be able to connect to the license server! There is no "check out" or similar mechanism.

After having bought a floating license, you will receive a mail with a download link to the VSR Rhino 5 Zoo executable. This needs to be executed on the computer which shall be used as license server. After having installed this component, you can start the Zoo, and add your VSR license key(s):

Click on the icon on the left. For "Product type:", select the VSR plug-in for which you want to add a license key. If the VSR products should not be listed immediately, please stop the Zoo server, and start it again. Then you can add your license key(s) in the text field "Product license or CD key:".

Activate your nodelocked License

Nodelocked licenses only work on one computer. To activate the license key received via E-mail you have to do the following steps:

  • Copy the license key from the E-Mail into the Clip Board (depending on your language e.g. Ctrl/C, Strg/C,...)
  • Select in the Rhino Pull Down menu the button  "VSR Renderer" - "License Key" or "VSR Shape Modeling" - "License Key".
  • You receive a dialog box. Copy the license key from the clip board into the edit field (depending on your language e.g. Ctrl/V, Strg/V,...).

  • Press "Apply".
  • If the license key is valid, you can press the button "Write License Key". Please note that you need to have administrator privileges to write the license key.

  • To take the new license into account, you need to restart Rhino.

 

If you have questions or problems with the licensing of your VSR product, especially if

  • the license expires
  • your license key is damaged or corrupt
  • you want to re-install your plug-in on another computer
  • you would like to order new license keys
