Say it with images – thanks to perfect design by Jorge Biosca
Hannover (Germany), November 27, 2012. – VSR (Virtual Shape Research GmbH), developer of software solutions for advanced surface modeling, analysis, and visualization of 3D CAD data models, will again be present at this year’s world-wide leading trade fair for moldmaking and tooling, design and application development. EuroMold 2012 is another opportunity the company has seized to present its new products and versions that allow the enhanced product development workflow to be covered in the future. Numerous improvements and enhancements enable an increase in productivity through improved working processes. At its booth VSR will be demonstrating live how its latest products and optimized functionalities can be used in high-quality product design.
VSR will be providing impressive evidence of its claim to develop top-level software solutions. Because with Jorge Biosca, VSR has managed to present an internationally renowned automotive designer and strong partner at its EuroMold booth. “Successful design, however, starts with a convincing concept and a process tailored to the current requirements,” says Jorge Biosca. The designer and winner of this year’s European ELVA Design Contest will be presenting at EuroMold 2012 the models he designed with Rhinoceros® 3D and the VSR product suite, demonstrating his skills for the first time to a broad public. “The most laborious task is to create a design from a sculpture-like concept, that is, a design including a particularly large amount of complex free-form surfaces. Their design and translation into manufacturable surfaces places special demands on the entire process chain, in particular on the production process“, the designer continues. These demands on the surfaces – especially in automotive engineering – are characteristic for what is referred to as Class-A modeling.
Generation of high-quality Class-A surfaces with simultaneous real-time analysis of the geometry data – these options are united in VSR Shape Modeling 2.0. Besides the already proven and optimized functions for geometry creation and modification, the new release features numerous new functionalities. The customary degree of control over the quality of the designed geometry is achieved with the integrated VSR Shape Analysis plug-in. Existing Rhinoceros 3D® data models can be immediately analyzed and further processed, without any additional effort and with full associativity.
With VSR Realtime Renderer 4.0 another completely integrated plug-in for Rhinoceros 3D® is available which allows designers to switch from the familiar Rhino display mode to a photo-realistic environment at any time. Using the VSR WebGL Export plug-in, the data model can subsequently be exported to a format that can be viewed on any other hardware, or it can be sent right away as an e-mail attachment to a contact.
This year again, VSR will be participating with two lectures in the design+engineering forum held during EuroMold 2012: Peter Salzmann will be talking about “High-end surfacing solutions for everybody” on November 27, 2012, and Jorge Biosca and Horst Vogt will be giving a presentation about “The VSR product suite in practical use” in the session “Design/industrial design” on November 28, 2012.
Virtual Shape Research is developing and marketing CAD software in the areas of Modeling, Analysis and Visualization of Free-Form geometry with the goal to improve the daily job of designers in terms of quality and efficiency. VSR has established itself as a vendor for software add-on applications supporting Class A surfacing and visualization. For specific markets other platforms are used.
